CT River Artisans Cooperative Artisan of the Month Sept., 2020: Teresa Fanska

Submitted by Linda Cave.

(August 17, 2020) — Connecticut River Artisans is delighted to announce our Artisan of the Month for September, Teresa Fanska.  To call Teresa an artisan, is an understatement!  She designs and sews the most adorable “Little Girl’s Dresses” in sizes from 6 months to 4 Toddler; she is a fabric “magician.”
Teresa is a retired teacher, having taught grade 8 in New Haven and Meriden for 35 years.  She embarked on her dress-making business in 2016.  It is not a surprise to anyone who has seen her work, that she has made and sold over 1,000 of her children’s dresses.  The dresses are reversible, wrap style dress that can be worn as an easy, airy sundress or over a shirt and leggings in colder weather.  They are 100% cotton.  Boys bow ties are also available.  People say, “These dresses are just darling!”
Teresa will be celebrated by her colleagues on Sunday, September 6, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. right at the shop at 55 Main Street. Essex, CT. The public is welcome to join in the festivities (her dresses will be discounted at 15% off) and the shop’s beautiful handmade items will be on display and sold as well.  Join us for beverages and hors d’oeuvres.  Social distancing guidelines including the required face mask will be in effect.
