Celebrities Uplifting Others During COVID-19

We have found some uplifting things come out of celebrities during COVID-19, as well as entertainment. If you need some uplifting or entertaining videos, try out these:

Josh Groban #Shower Songs

Josh Groban has been singing in his shower during COVID-19, and a hundred thousand people have been tuning into his songs. He has encouraged other people to do the same. The acoustics in his shower are fabulous. He has done a duet as well, but of course since it’s COVID-19, his partner is in her own house. Here are two of his most popular shower songs on YouTube: Hallelujah and Over the Rainbow.

Some Good News

John Krasinski, known for the Amazon Prime show Jack Ryan, as well as The Office, has been putting together videos each week called “Some Good News.” If you haven’t watched them yet, they are FANTASTIC. They’ve been watched by millions, and it’s no wonder. Some families have been copying him with their own versions of the video, and he’s absolutely fine with it, because he wants to spread the good news at a time like this. He set up the video camera in his office, his kids made the sign behind him, and he just spreads the good news that he’s found. It’s a combination of thank yous to essential workers, entertainment, and charm. You can find Episode One here, Episode Two here, Episode Three, here.

Meditation

Melissa Viviane Jefferson, better known as Lizzo, has been posting meditation videos on Instagram. Her melodies on the flute can’t help but be calming. And millions of people are tuning in, as she tries to help during a time of crisis.

One World: Together At Home

The One World: Together at Home show was globally televised and streamed on Saturday, April 18, and the videos are now available on YouTube. If you go to YouTube and search “Together at Home,” you’ll see a list of videos by stars like Taylor Swift, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Paul McCartney, the Rolling Stones, Billie Eilish, J Lo, Lady Gaga and more. They play in their backyards, their living rooms, the Rolling Stones all perform in their separate houses, and they all play for one cause. The show was hosted by Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, and Stephen Colbert.  It was put on by globalcitizen.org.

Jim Gaffigan, Comedian

Jim Gaffigan, a comedian, who is now a self-proclaimed “professional shut in” who lives in New York City, has been sharing his home videos of himself, his wife, and their five children in an apartment. It looks like a bigger than average apartment in New York City, but he shows that he is “just like the rest of us.” They’re making hot dogs for dinner AGAIN, losing track of time, and he’s making friends with his coffeemaker. They are also going a little stir crazy. You can watch his videos on YouTube, or CBS has a weekly series.

Disney Singalong

And for the kids there was a Disney singalong. You can find the videos on YouTube, like “We’re All in This Together” from the cast of High School Musical, and “I Won’t Say I’m in Love” by Ariana Grande, and “Colors of the Wind” by Tori Kelly.

#Distance Dance

And on TikTok, Charlie D’Amelio has the most followers, some 40 million of them. This 15 year old has spearheaded the #DistanceDance movement, where she’s trying to get her fans and followers to show off their favorite dance moves while staying home during COVID-19. Procter and Gamble is helping by donating to organizations like Feeding America and Matthew 25: Ministries each time that D’Amelio is tagged and you use the #DistanceDance hashtag.
