ADULT PROGRAMS

Crystals and Minerals of Connecticut on Saturday, January 18, 2020 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.

Come join Nancy Najarian for a hands on program and discussion of the variety of minerals and crystals from Connecticut and around the world. Nancy will inform us of what crystals and minerals we can find in Connecticut and the various tests used to identify them. Nancy will bring some fluorescent samples and a geologic microscope to view the minerals and crystals up close. If you would like a sneak peek of some crystals and minerals stop by the Library to see a sampling of Nancy’s collection in our display case by the circulation desk for the month of January.

Brainerd’s Culinary Club on Monday, January 27, 2020 6:30 p.m.

Do you like to cook? Do you like reading cookbooks? Do the pictures make your mouth water and you want to try the recipes? Then come join us at Brainerd Memorial Library as we are starting a cookbook book club. The club will meet on the fourth Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. Come by the Library to see what our first cookbook to cook from will be. Our first cookbook will be Jennifer Joyce’s Small Bites. In this book are recipes for finger foods to wet our appetites and get us started.  The cookbook will be located at the circulation desk with a sign up sheet to put your name on and which recipe you have chosen to make and bring in for everyone to sample. At our first meeting, we will also choose cookbooks to make future recipes from for following meetings.

The Library will supply the plates, utensils and a drink.
