Give your thoughts on A Vision for Higganum Center:  What to do with HES now that we own it? How to proceed without a $12 million sewer plant? Do we need affordable apartments? How to connect the Center to the cove and the river? Potential for the rail right of way to bring visitors should the Town buy Rossi Property? Should the town acquire old State garage (Scovil Hoe)? Should the Town Garage be in the Center?

Everything is on the table to be discussed. Don’t Miss this opportunity to be Heard!

  1. Fishing / Hunting club/store.
Fishing pond for catch n release trout for teaching, practice, and derbys.
Pay an entrance fee to fish n take home a fresh trout keeper for dinner.
Selling fly rods, fishing gear, all accesories n needs.
River close by, clearing out access for fishing in the small rivers in town. Brings in other towns interest, cunsumers for our other buisnesses.
Possible gun shop run by Dan Luisi (the pistol permit guy)
Possible indoor and outdoor shooting range and .22 rifles for older kids learning gun safety, etc.
Close to a hometown Cabella’s but focused on the towns streams, rivers, and interests. Most residents here are legal gun owners, and these days range time brings in thousands of dollars.
Consumers from other towns could shop and eat in town.
Even fisherman heading through to the nearby CT river would have easy access to bait, fishing gear, etc. On their way through town.
These things are huge in this state with nothing nearby.
Easy access off rt 9 at both exits.
I could give hours of more detailed facts on this.
But I will leave it here, as just a simple reply.
This has been a dream of mine for this town for over 30 years.
