Local Student receives President’s Freshman Award at Penn State

(July 20, 2021) — Julia Callis (HKHS ’20) of Killingworth, CT received the President’s Freshman Award at Penn State in recognition of her academic excellence which is given to freshman who have earned a 4.0 GPA.

She also received a scholarship as she attained the top spot in her Material Science Engineering program and was nominated and joined the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and the National Society of Leadership and Success Honor Societies.
