Jeanne Messick

Jeanne graduated from Connecticut College in New London magna cum laude and completed her law degree at the University of Connecticut School of Law. She grew up in East Haddam, Connecticut, and is a proud alumna of Mercy High School in Middletown. She spent one academic year of college at the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico, during which time she became fluent in Spanish.

Jeanne has spent her legal career in Connecticut practicing in the areas of Wills, Trusts, Probate Administration, Residential and Commercial Real Estate Transactions, Elder Law and Asset Protection, Business Succession Planning, LLC and Corporate Formation and Transitions, and Special Needs Planning. Cloutier & Cassella, LLC, enjoys a long and rich history in Old Saybrook, the firm tracing its origins to the late Richard T. O’Connell and retired judge Walter R. Budney, who established the practice in 1966. Jeanne has joined a team that today consists of Attorneys Edward M. Cassella and Thomas D. McLaughlin, and a staff of six paraprofessionals and paralegals who assist in meeting the needs of the firm’s clients. The firm celebrated 50 years of service in 2017 and is highly regarded for its close ties to the community.

Attorney Messick has previously served on the Board of Trustees of Mercy High School Corporation, Brainerd Memorial Library Association, and the Central Connecticut Business & Estate Planning Council. She is a current corporator of Middlesex Health and a member of Middlesex Legacy Partners (as part of “Leave a Legacy” promoting charitable planned giving), and is a charter member of River Delta BNI in Old Saybrook. Jeanne and her husband live in Haddam.

When you need legal help to maintain control of your property, prepare for the future through proper Will, Trust and disability documents, plan for transfer of business and real estate assets to loved ones during lifetime, and/or seek asset protection strategies for aging family members, please contact Attorney Messick at (860) 388-3456 to explore how an attorney/client relationship can give you a range of solutions and peace of mind.
